This mapping should then be analysed against best practices in IFE and presented in such a way as to provide guidance and suggestions for improvement. This first step will lead to the development of an IFE framework which includes curriculum, student assessments and learning materials (ensuring that UNICEF’s Life Skills Manual is used by all parties). This framework will integrate IFE best practices (including but not limited to minimum standards of time on task, length of programs, and use of assessments). Concurrently, and in light of lessons learned through the mapping exercise, a training framework for IFE deliverers will be developed to ensure the quality implementation of UNICEF’s IFE programs. This work will lead to a “policy workshop” workshop to discuss the findings of the mapping and to engage the dialogue on the framework with a view of 1) having it endorsed and 2) discussing accreditation. |

The purpose of this consultancy is to work in tandem with the UNICEF Education Officer, overseeing the Education Section’s IFE implementation, to map the current curricula, learning materials and assessments in use by UNICEF’s various partners for the delivery to both Syrian and Jordanian students – aged 7 through 16. This mapping should then be analysed against best practices in IFE and presented in such a way as to provide guidance and suggestions for improvement.
