FAO - The SUDAN - Impact of shocks on livestock inputs, food supply chains and livestock livelihoods - July 2024

نوع الوثيقة: Reports and Assessments
اللغة: English
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations Representation in the Sudan and Data in Emergencies (DIEM) are happy to share a new report detailing the challenges experienced by livestock keepers and traders in the Sudan. This DIEM-Monitoring assessment, conducted from 25 March to 14 April 2024, covered one or two major markets in each Sudanese state that were functional at the time of data collection and adopted a qualitative approach through face-to-face surveys. Three separate questionnaires were administered targeting food traders, agricultural input traders and livestock extension officers. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) established the DIEM-Monitoring System to collect, analyse, and disseminate data on shocks and livelihoods in countries prone to multiple shocks. DIEM Monitoring aims to inform decision-making by providing regularly updated information on how different shocks affect the livelihoods and food security of agricultural populations. DIEM Monitor
