Since September 23, over 200,000 Syrian and Lebanese nationals have crossed into Syria due to escalating hostilities in Lebanon. Many fled through dangerous routes like the Masnaa border point, with some vulnerable families having no transportation. UNHCR, with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent (SARC), organized buses to transport 600 vulnerable individuals safely to the Jdaidet Yabous border crossing. Although traffic through Jdaidet Yabous decreased after nearby airstrikes, arrivals continued at other border points. Local authorities established 25 hosting centers in several governorates with a capacity for 10,000 people, currently sheltering over 1,800 vulnerable families. UNHCR is actively engaged in mitigating protection risks and distributing essential relief items.
