Presentation by Tutwa Consulting on the findings from an AfDB-funded comprehensive two-year study examining investment climate enhancement for economic empowerment of refugee, returnee, and host community women in the EHAGL Region. They share insights from field research conducted across nine countries, incorporating findings from scoping missions, community consultations and public-private dialogues. What distinguishes this research is its unique comparative lens that provides insights into the challenges and opportunities facing vulnerable populations in these contexts. The study identifies country-specific barriers while also exploring common obstacles and best practices that can support peer learning among member and partner states of the regional economic communities - EAC and IGAD. This regional dimension identifies opportunities for collaborative solutions, particularly through leveraging existing institutional frameworks.
