The development of this guidance was informed by observations during recent emergency responses, including instances where large quantities of donated foods and beverages provided in collective shelters and affected communities were not aligned with recommended nutritional practices for children and adolescents. The guidance provides practical recommendations for partners on promoting healthier food choices for children and adolescents in emergency settings, while ensuring that assistance and donations remain aligned with nutrition recommendations.
