Immigration repatriates 43 foreigners in Bauchi

The Nigerian Immigration Service, Bauchi State Command, has repatriated 43 foreigners residing in the state without valid documents.
The exercise is part of efforts to ensure security of lives and property during the 2015 general elections.
Speaking to newsmen, the state Comptroller of Immigration, Odeji Ejukwule Usman, said out of the number, 37 are from Niger Republic, three from Cameroun and three from Mali. He said they were arrested in different locations in the state.
He added that apart from the fact that they came into the country through illegal means, they also do not have jobs.
The comptroller urged them to obtain legal documents if they want to return to the country.
He reaffirmed the readiness of the command to ensure a crime free environment in the state.
Some of the foreigners interviewed explained regrets over the development.
