Post-Primary School in Yepone Ward of Myeik gets new school building

Myeik, 29 June—The opening ceremony of new school building donated by Myeik Township Lower House MP Wunna Kyawhtin U Htay Myint was held at the Basic Education Post-Primary School in Yepone Ward of Myeik in Taninthayi Region on Friday.
On the occasion, Chief Minister of Taninthayi Region U Myat Ko said that the government is undertaking the reform process in education sector such as granting stipends and cash assistance, constructing new school buildings, upgrading the school levels and implementing child approach teaching methods.
He stressed the need for officials to participate in upgrading the education standard to be on a par with the international level.
Donor Wunna Kyawhtin U Htay Myint explained the purpose of donation and handed over the documents related to the new school building to Taninthayi Region Education Director U Tun Yi. Wellwishers donated stationery and K25 million to the school.
A total of 17 teachers are teaching 629 students at the 102 feet by 36 feet two-storey building. Due to increasing number of students this academic year, wellwisher Wunna Kyawhtin U Htay Myint and family of Yuzana Company donated one-storey reinforced concrete building which is 195 x 90 feet formed with nine classrooms and one office spending K243 million.
