About the Protection Group - Ecuador

The Protection Sector in Ecuador aims to contribute to creating and strengthening a protection environment—grounded in international human rights standards, international refugee law, and other applicable international legal frameworks—for people affected by humanitarian crises, displacement, human mobility, violence, disasters, and other situations of vulnerability. To this end, it facilitates coordination among authorities, United Nations agencies, humanitarian organizations, and other relevant actors, promoting responses that are coordinated, inclusive, and tailored to individuals' distinct needs—applying an age, gender, and diversity approach—to ensure their protection, dignity, and effective access to rights.
