UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is seeking US$5.6 million in flexible funding until the end of 2026 to provide life-saving protection assistance to refugees and internally displaced people in Mali, and to strengthen preparedness for potential further internal displacement and refugee influxes. Without urgent support, protection monitoring will remain limited, shelter gaps will persist, and displaced families will face increased risks due to the lack of documentation, adequate shelter, and essential household items. Timely funding will enable UNHCR and partners to mitigate protection risks, stabilize affected populations, and remain ready to respond to further displacement within Mali and across borders until December 2026.
