The Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Mr. Imad Fakhoury, has expressed his interest in using WFP’s OneCard platform as a means to enhance and/or replace Jordan’s current unconditional cash assistance.

WFP continues to support 150,000 Syrians through its e-card programme in eleven camps in the south-east of Turkey.

Between the beginning of the off-camp programme in July 2015 and the end of June 2016, 130,000 Syrians received their WFP/TRC (Turkish Red Crescent) e-card.

In late July 2016, WFP begun implementing the Food for Training (FFT) project, targeting vulnerable Jordanians in Zarqa, Amman, Irbid and Aqaba. Through the FFT project, 1,470 people started receiving training in different occupational areas. Enrolled Jordanians will continue to receive on the job training (e.g sewing for women, welding for men and many more trainings) until the end of 2016.
