More than 340,000 Venezuelans have entered Ecuador since the beginning of 2018 (compared to 287,000 arrivals registered for the whole of 2017).

In Brazil, 527 Venezuelan nationals have been relocated from border regions to Brazilian cities in the country (Cuiabá, Manaus and São Paulo) to ease pressure on border communities and support Venezuelans to begin new lives.

The mass registration of Venezuelans irregularly present in Colombia, supported by UNHCR and IOM, has concluded with 442,462 individuals registered. Key results include the fact that 98.8% lack access to healthcare and only 48.7% of children are enrolled in schools.

Peru is now the largest refugee hosting country in Latin America, with 126,997 asylum applications since 2014.

Over 117,000 asylum claims from Venezuelans have already been filed in 2018, surpassing the total number of claims made in all of 2017.
