On 23 February 2015,Vodafone Foundation Director visited Kakuma to discuss the set-up of the Instant Networked Schools,a successful project done also in Dadaab.

On 8th March Int.Women Day was celebrated in Kakuma under the theme "Make it Happen".Refugees women leaders led UNHCR and partners with many colorful events.

On 23 April,AAR Japan’s Director Overseas and Domestic Operations,Ms. Ikuko Natori, visited Kakuma to discuss also new sec.school for refugees & host community.

As 30th July 2015, In Kakuma 4, 782 durable shelters were constructed for new arrivals and assessment of shelter needs is ongoing.

In KK activities to mark World breastfeeding week kicked off on 1st August and will run until 7th,including community sensitization/dialogue on breastfeeding

From 16-19 Sep. Ed. Grode,board member of U.S. Committee for Refugees/Immigrants (USCRI), a U.S. resettlement and advocacy organization, was in KK on mission.

A Oxford University team was in KK from 11-18 April to prepare the ground for a research on refugee/host community economies that will start later in the year.

RAVES PROJECT - KENYA LAUNCH: Official launch of the Refugee Agricultural Value chains for Economic Self-reliance (RAVES) Programme. FAO with funding from the IKEA Foundation and in collaboration with the Turkana County Government, UNHCR, WFP, IFC, INSTA Products, Egerton University and other stakeholders has initiated a project aimed at enabling farmers from Loima and Turkana West Sub-Counties of Turkana County as well as refugees in Kalobeyei settlement to produce groundnut for INSTA Products in a Public Private Partnership. The four-year project is targeting 1,500 farmers, of which 30 percent are refugees, farming on approximately 750 acres and ultimately delivering 1,200 tons of Groundnuts per year. The project is expected to bring in KES 96 million annually to Turkana County and spur the development of a groundnut industry in the County.

Relocation to Kambioos has commenced. Some 883 individuals relocated by 20 August

UNHCR is pleased to share that the vast majority of Somali arrivals on the outskirts have been relocated to safety.The current population of IFO 2 West exceeds 40,000 and Ifo 2 East nearly 30,000. Relocation ton Kambioos which started much later is nearly at the 10,000 mark already.
