The mass registration of Venezuelans irregularly present in Colombia, supported by UNHCR and IOM, has concluded with 442,462 individuals registered. Key results include the fact that 98.8% lack access to healthcare and only 48.7% of children are enrolled in schools.
Over 1,500 Venezuelans have applied for asylum in Ecuador. More than 62,000 are estimated to live in the country, of whom some 40% have obtained temporary residence permits.
On April 6th, the Colombian Government began a mass registration of undocumented Venezuelans in Colombia. UNHCR and IOM are jointly supporting the process, providing training to local officials, technical support, equipment, human resources and mass communications.
