Refugee Coordination Mission from Geneva visited Gambella from 12 – 14 Nov 2014.

PRM / CDC / U.S. Embassy Mission visited Gambella for monitoring and evaluation of USG-funded programs and to assess humanitarian situation from 10-16 November.

The relocation of refugees from Matar way station to Pugnido refugee camp commenced on 17 November.

UNHCR Representative, Mr Valentin Tapsoba, was in Gambella from 16-22 November to witness the launching of the relocation exercise from Matar to Pugnido camp

The “Master Plan Mission” from UNHCR Geneva was in Gambella from 20-29 October to test the new master plan tool kit and to assist in identifying new camp site.

The 16 Days of Activism to End Violence against Women was launched in all refugee camps in Gambella region on 25 November.

The campaign for the expression of interest by refugees to relocate to Pugnido refugee camp commenced at Pagak entry point.

UNHCR started the relocation of about 3,000 South Sudanese refugees who have been staying at Pagak entry point to Pugnido refugee camp.

UNHCR conducted 2014 Code of Conduct (COC) training session for all Staff in Gambella Sub-Office and at Nyin Nyang Field Office.

An information campaign to kick-start refugee relocation from Pamdong transit center to Pugnido Refugee camp was conducted.
