Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence Sub-Working Group - Jordan

  Working Group Description

The CP/GBV Working Group is co-led by UNHCR, UNICEF, and UNFPA, with leadership roles structured to ensure harmonized coordination across both child protection and GBV interventions. The Working Group allows for the participation of local actors and international NGOs as Co-Leads, based on member consensus. The Sector Lead and Co-Lead arrangements are intended to promote effective coordination, accountability, and strategic alignment, ensuring that the merged CP/GBV platform delivers a coherent, survivor-centered, and child-sensitive response. The Child Protection and Gender-Based Violence (CP/GBV) Working Group is a coordinated platform aimed at strengthening the prevention, response, and protection mechanisms for children and survivors of gender-based violence across all ages, genders, nationalities, and abilities in Jordan. The group applies a humanitarian-development nexus approach, ensuring interventions are aligned with national legal frameworks, SOPs, and international standards. It convenes relevant actors—governmental and non-governmental—on a regular basis, develops and updates an integrated Strategy and Work Plan, contributes to the broader Protection Sector Strategy, and facilitates continuous engagement, information-sharing, and technical support among partners. Core activities include monitoring the implementation of interventions, referral pathways, and standards, delivering training and workshops, supporting community mobilization and behavior change activities, and sharing best practices to enhance both child protection and GBV programming.
