On Thursday, 5 March 2015, the Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Dr. Carlos Lopez, visited Tierkidi camp in the Gambella region, western Ethiopia, home to nearly 50,000 South Sudanese refugees.

UNHCR screened 440 foreign nationals at the Protection of Civilians sites in Juba to identify any individuals who may be refugees. The exercise is ongoing.

UNHCR was part of a HCT-led assessment of Leer, Akobo and Pagak to explore the possibility of the assisted relocation of IDPs from the POC sites of Bor and Wau.
