The escalation of the war in Ukraine in February 2022 resulted in a humanitarian crisis and the arrival of a million of refugees to Poland. Before 2022, there was already a large community of Ukrainian immigrants, many of whom have been working in the domestic sector, as care takers of the children, or the elderly, or housekeepers. In 2023, in cooperation with CARE International in Poland, CASE has conducted a study of migrant and refugee domestic workers living in Poland.
