On 8 October, UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi, concluded his visit to Syria after launching the *SYRIA: Inter-Agency Emergency Appeal for the Influx from Lebanon to Syria*. During his visit, he assessed the damage at the Masnaa and Jdaidet Yabous border area, where recent airstrikes rendered the main road between Lebanon and Syria unusable for vehicles. Grandi visited the Health Border Support Point at Jdaidet Yabous, where UNHCR’s partner, SARC, is providing relief and medical aid. The appeal seeks $324 million to support 480,000 people. He also met with Syrian officials to discuss the ongoing response.
