JRS - Economic Inclusion of Refugees and Host Communities in Kenya: A market analysis

Document Type: Reports and Assessments
Document Language: English
JRS launched its latest report “Economic Inclusion of Young Adult Refugees and Vulnerable Host Communities in Turkana County,” presenting a market systems analysis of the online freelancing, fashion design, and early childhood education sectors in Kakuma Refugee Camp and Kalobeyei. The report was developed in collaboration with the local JRS team, refugee communities, the local Chamber of Commerce, and other NGOs working in the area. This study aims to identify viable economic opportunities that can enable both refugees and host community members to enter the workforce or establish their own businesses. By analysing market dynamics and potential growth areas, it helps shape targeted interventions that support sustainable livelihoods. Serving as a strategic tool for the Pathfinder project, the report provides insights to guide its implementation over the next three years.
