This factsheet presents a summary of the findings of the Bhasan Char Sectoral Needs Assessment (BCNA) 2024, conducted in 2024 through the established sector coordination mechanism and in collaboration with humanitarian partners supporting the Bhasan Char response in Bangladesh. The assessment aimed to evaluate sector-specific needs and living conditions of the 36,376 Rohingya refugees residing on the island, providing evidence-based insights for the 2025 Joint Response Plan (JRP). A representative sample of 410 households across 62 clusters was surveyed using a stratified random sampling approach, categorized by the sex of household heads and the presence of persons with specific needs (PSNs), ensuring inclusive coverage of vulnerable groups. The data collection was led by ACTED from 1 to 9 October 2024 and complemented by secondary data sources.
