Persistent conflict and insecurity continued to drive a deepening displacement crisis in eastern DRC, with new internal displacement still outpacing returns in several affected areas. Smaller but steady cross-border movements into neighbouring countries also accumulated to more than 16,400 new Congolese arrivals since January 2026, adding pressure on host communities and overstretched services.
