2021 was BOMA’s most impactful year yet. Together, we enrolled 21,432 new entrepreneurs, lifted 128,592 people out of extreme poverty, and achieved an astounding 36 percent of our cumulative impact since 2009. We also introduced exciting new adaptations of BOMA’s proven poverty graduation approach to serve new contexts, populations and geographic regions. BOMA has empowered more than 350,000 to escape extreme poverty since 2009. Our approach was founded upon a mission to unleash the entrepreneurial spirit of women to inspire lasting change. Now, BOMA is on a mission to transform the lives of 3 million women, youth, and refugees in Africa’s drylands by 2027.
