The celebration the 139th Karenni National Day in Loikaw

The 139th Karenni National Day was celebrated at the Mao Du Dee Boe hall, Htye Ta Mah village, in Loikaw Kayah State on the 21 of June.
At 8 am, the 139th Karenni National Day ceremony was officially opened with Kayaw ceremonial and salutationning to the flag of Karenni and to the flag of Myanmar
The KNPP spokesperson Mr.Plureh from the KNPP liaison office, Loikaw said that the Karenni National Day is the day to express the whole Karennese formality through diplomacy.
Karennni National Day used to organize, in the past, in the Karenni refugee camps and this time is the second event after the ceasefire between KNPP and Myanmar Govt had agreed.
Including some members from State Govt, youth organizations, Political parties, arm groups, women organizations, ethnic associations, 88 generation peace and open society, NGOs, business persons, traditional and cultural committees, and elderlies were all presented to the ceremony. More than 1500 participants showed up to the event.
The delegate of 88 Generation Peace and Open Society, U KO KO GYI, indicated that this promotion of local heritage is a sign that of future progress for a broader equality for ethnic groups such as business equality, social equality and the possibility to practice this equality in the union of Myanmar. He called upon the Burmese majority to cooperate with all ethnic groups to share the gains of development.
June 21st, 1875, was the date that recognized the independence state of Karenni from British and Burma colonized and it is considered as the Karenni National Day.
