Thailand to purchase cashew nuts from Taninthayi

Thai businessmen have proposed to buy cashew nuts produced from the Taninthayi Region and also provide technical assistance, cashew growers said.
Businessmen from Thailand recently visited Taninthayi and inspected cashew trees cultivated in the coastal region. They proposed to provide technical assistance, buy the cashew nuts and resell them to foreign countries, said U Aung Naing Soe, a cashew grower in Dawei Township.
Additionally, the businessmen asked for cooperation with the local businessmen who are engaged in crab, fish farming and oil palm farms. Myanmar’s cashew nuts, which have many health benefits, will be exported to African countries.
