Public Health Professionals Launch Five-Year Strategic Plan

The Myanmar Health Assistant Association on Sunday launched a five-year plan to improve the public health sector and the general health of Myanmar people, the association’s president said.
"This is the first strategic plan of the association. We tried to compile invaluable input and suggestions from experts and relevant stakeholders," U Myo Thwin, association president, said at the launch of its Strategic Plan (2019-2023) in Yangon on Sunday.
Under the plan, the 478-strong staff of the association will implement 12 public health projects in 76 townships in the states and regions of Kachin, Kayin, Shan, Rakhine, Chin, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magwe and Yangon.
The projects include disease control, reproductive, maternal, newborn, child and adolescent health, as well as nutrition.
In 2019, the association will have sub-offices in 307 townships across the country, with an estimated 5365 members.
