UNHCR Zambia joins in the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-based Violence

UNHCR Zambia today joined the rest of world to commemorate the International Day of the Elimination of Violence Against Women and to begin the 2021 campaign of the 16 days of Gender Activism against GBV.
UNHCR, partners ( Caritas Czech Republic, Office of the Commissioner for Refugees & Makeni Health post staff ) as well as refugees, were part of the National Commemoration held today 25 November 2021 in Lusaka under the national theme “Orange the World, End Violence against women and girls now” which was graced by the republican Vice President, her Honour Mrs. W.K Mutale Nalumango.
During the 16 days of activism, UNHCR and partners in Lusaka have lined up community awareness programs which include school sensitizations, Information sessions on GBV and sports activities at Makeni transit centre.
