The Blue Forest Foundation was established in 2017 by Mariann Hornyák to support children and adults with sensory processing disorders in fulfilling their social roles. Our goal is to create an accepting and inclusive atmosphere for all members of the Foundation that promotes inclusion and equal opportunities. Since many families have fled Ukraine since February 2022 due to the war, we realized that a dedicated space was necessary to support the large number of children with special educational needs. As a result, we provided administrative support to a team of Ukrainian specialists who launched a project called AKSEN – Assistance to Kids with Special Educational Needs. -

A new community house supporting refugees, maintained by the Budapest-Józsefváros Evangelical Parish, began operating in the fall of 2022. Those fleeing the Ukrainian war can receive food packages, hygiene products, baby items, diapers, used items such as clothes, toys, kitchen utensils, strollers, school supplies, other tangible items, sports equipment. In addition to supporting basic needs, we welcome those who come to us with community and individual social work, job search counseling, community programs, children's programs, language courses, psychological counseling, and a playhouse. -

To achieve our goals, we carry out various educational, cultural and consulting activities, such as art, photo and business exhibitions; music, dance, literature, crafts festivals; national holidays, friendly gatherings, concerts, forums, seminars, conferences, round tables, charity auctions, summer and winter children's camps, excursions and tours. -

Apart from social programmes in Hungary, Hungarian Interchurch Aid has also carried out humanitarian and development work in over 50 countries, helping those in need regardless of nationality, religion or world view, all the while meeting the highest professional and transparency requirements.
