Maltese Charity Service - Hungary

With its assistance programs in the sixth month of the war, the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service supports the integration of three thousand Ukrainian refugees who will remain in Hungary in the long term. Over the past six months, the charity has provided direct assistance to seventy thousand refugees and delivered more than four hundred tons of durable food to Ukraine. -

Oltalom Charity Society was founded in 1989 by a group of people who recognized the needs of disadvantaged, socially abandoned, vulnerable, endangered persons. As a matter of conscience, they established an organization that would endeavor to alleviate the needs of such individuals and groups. The goal of the Society is to locate and support people in need and to raise the awareness and support of the general public. The Society works in the belief that that it is possible to restore its clients to a decent human life. Its workers strive to be patient and ready to serve those who require only temporary help and who want to continue their walk of life independently. -

Migration Aid has been helping refugees all around Europe since 2015. Currently, several hundreds are working on helping Ukrainian refugees coming to the country access accommodation, supplies and information. -

The Hungarian Helsinki Committee is a public benefit human rights organization that protects human dignity through legal and public activities. We provide help to refugees, detainees and victims of law enforcement violence. -
Lutheran Church of Budapest - Mandák Ház
Mandák Ház
The Mary Mandák Lutheran Meetinghouse was established when a wealthy citizen woman bequeathed her wealth to the Church. At the time of nationalization, the house had a charity home, and 20 small apartments were occupied by residents with church ties. -
Romaversitas
Romaversitas
Romaversitas is the first comprehensive support and training program for talented Roma youngsters in Hungary. Established in 1996, in the past twenty years Romaversitas has supported over 300 Roma students throughout their academic studies, to successfully graduate and become highly skilled professionals in their chosen field. -
Budapest Municipality

23 local governments (districts) and the Municipality of Budapest (city government) share the governing responsibilities. The Municipality of Budapest does not own any health care institutions (primary care and outpatient specialist care belong to the district local governments, hospital inpatient care belong to the State). Budapest city government owns high number of elderly homes and also responsible for homeless care services throughout the city (community based services – such as home care – are supervised by local governments). Budapest runs the public transport of the city, the public cleaning services, waste transport, drinking water supply services, chimney cleaning services, and public park maintenance. -
Lexis Foundation

This is an organization that started working in the early days of the war. The leader of Lexis is Tatiana Vamos. Tatiana is in a unique position because she is both Ukrainian and Hungarian. This helps her build bridges and work together with international and Hungarian organizations and donors to help refugees. Lexis depends on donations and the help from partners.
