statelessness in the great lakes region

  Regional Statelessness Network Description

Since the launch of the #IBelong Campaign in 2014, there has been significant progress to eradicate statelessness in the region. Much more work is needed to eradicate statelessness, and for the remaining years of the #IBelong Campaign, there is need for stronger engagement of Civil Society Organisations. The establishment of the Eastern Africa Nationality Network will enhance cross-regional dialogue and advocacy on common issues. The Network membership includes: Child Rights Watch; Dignity Kwanza; Great Lakes Initiative for Human Rights and Developmentt; Haki Centre; Haki na Sheria Initiative; Hold the Child; Justice Access Point (JAP); Kenya Human Rights Commission; Minority Rights Group Africa Office; Namati Kenya; Nubian Rights Forum; Prison Fellowship Rwanda; Sudan Organisation for Development; Women Advocates Association of South Sudan (WAASS); and Zanzibar Legal Services Centre (ZLSC).
