This factsheet presents a summary of the findings of the Bhasan Char Multi-Sector Needs Assessments (BCNA) exercise conducted through the established sector coordination mechanism and in collaboration with all stakeholders involved in the Bhasan Char response in Bangladesh. BCNA aimed to evaluate the living conditions and provide a comprehensive view of the needs of the 32,560 Rohingya refugees relocated to the island as of 31 December 2023. The established detailed baseline data was to facilitate evidence-based planning and resource allocation. A representative sample of 408 households across 59 clusters were surveyed using a stratified random sampling approach, categorized by the sex ratio of the household head and the presence of persons with specific needs (PSNs).
