From a Livestock Emergency Guidelines and Standards (LEGS) perspective, the livelihoods objectives of asset protection and rebuilding assets during drought should support these households to maintain critical livestock assets and recover, and prevent a shift from “poor” to “destitute” in terms of livestock assets.
