800 children affected by Boko Haram insurgency in the northern parts of Adamawa State are currently undergoing psycho therapy as part of measures towards their rehabilitation, executive chairman Adamawa State Universal Basic Education (ADSUBEB), Bello Dauda Furo has said.

Furo who made the disclosure during an interaction with newsmen in Yola yesterday added that this followed the trauma many of the children whose parents were either gunned down or slaughtered by Boko Haram insurgents were exposed.

He noted that the agency has engaged the services of psycho socio consultants for the exercise adding that the effort has already started yielding results although he noted that the rehabilitation process will take some time for the children to be fully rehabilitated.

“The process will take some time because most of the parents of the children have been slaughtered before their eyes.

“They do not have anybody to cater for them, they have lost their parents as a result of the insurgency,” he said.

Furo added that after the rehabilitation, the children have been enrolled in schools within and outside the state after regaining their consciousness noting that the exercise was worthwhile.
