THE ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) government has opened the door to all stakeholders in the peace dialogue process, inviting non-signatory ethnic armed groups to participate in the upcoming political dialogue framework meeting.
During the first meeting with the United Nationalities Federal Council’s (UNFC) Delegation for Political Negotiation (DPN) in Chiangmai, Thailand, yesterday, the government’s peace negotiator Dr Tin Myo Win, in his capacity as the chairman of the Union Peace Conference— 21st century Panglong conference preparatory sub-committee 2, has officially invited leaders from the non-signatory groups to join the political dialogue framework meeting, which is scheduled to be held next week.
During the meeting, the non-signatories to the NCA discussed matters concerning participation in the peace conference and the terms and conditions which will enable them to participate.They also said they would review the political framework.
The sub-committee 2 arrived to Chaiangmai on Thursday and met separately with the Shan State Rehabilitation Party (RCSS/SSA).
