Direct flights begin between Myeik Airport and Bangkok

The Bangkok-based airline, New Gen Airways has begun direct flights between the Myeik Airport and Don Mueang International Airport in the Thai capital in cooperation with its local partner Tun Htaik Tin Company, a senior airline official told The Myanmar Times.
U Thar Du, New Gen Airways’ country manager said the regular flights started on Friday.
New Gen Airways will serve the route three times a week with Boeing 737-400s, which can accommodate up to 150 passengers.
The airfare will cost US$180 (K240,840) for a return ticket, U Thar Du said.
The immigration department is already setting up equipment and other facilities for the convenience of international travellers at the Myeik airport.
