According to figures from MoL the total number of valid work permits issued to Syrians has now reached above 26 thousand. This constitutes a total of 11% of the migrant labor force registered officially.

A workshop of the UN Agencies in Jordan on Job Creation and Livelihoods took place at the Kempinski Hotel in Amman on 7 – 8 September 2016. The technical workshop aimed at giving directions to the UNCT on resilience/livelihoods planning and especially on how the UN can contribute to job creation.

In late July 2016, WFP begun implementing the Food for Training (FFT) project, targeting vulnerable Jordanians in Zarqa, Amman, Irbid and Aqaba. Through the FFT project, 1,470 people started receiving training in different occupational areas. Enrolled Jordanians will continue to receive on the job training (e.g sewing for women, welding for men and many more trainings) until the end of 2016.
