Working Group Description

The objective of the Food Security and Agriculture (FSA) Working Group /Sector is to develop a harmonized programmatic approach to contribute to food security and promote agricultural livelihoods, as well as to coordinate an effective response with the involvement of all relevant FSA actors responding to the Syria Crisis in Turkey. It includes the provision of essential food assistance to the most vulnerable communities and agriculture-based interventions; thus, promoting food security and/or access to agriculture livelihoods opportunities among Syrian refugees. In line with national priorities, the FSA sector will seek to scale up programming (moving beyond household-level interventions, such as micro-gardening projects) to pursue opportunities for the provision of large and medium scale agriculture livelihoods support. Emphasis will be placed on creating and expanding employment and business opportunities in the agricultural sector to provide technical support aimed at strengthening FSA-related skills and knowledge among national partners.
