The average number of people questioned at the border monthly since May 2023 is over 2,500 people, with occasional peaks reaching up to 3,500 people. From March 2022 to August 2023, 24,548 persons crossing the border received support from UNHCR partners, primarily in the form of legal aid, protection counselling, social assistance, and transportation services. 66 per cent of people interviewed crossed the border by car, 15 per cent as pedestrians, 12 per cent by train, and 7 per cent by bus.
