At the 75th Plenary Session of the Executive Committee, UN High Commissioner Filippo Grandi highlighted a recent USD 324M funding appeal for Syrian returnees and Lebanese refugees, urging support for both humanitarian aid and early recovery efforts. On 15 October 2024, a USD 100 exchange requirement at Syria’s border was briefly reinstated but waived later in the day until month’s end. The Syria Department of Education reported 1,450 newly arrived students enrolled in Aleppo schools. Since 24 September, 27,000 individuals have arrived in northeast Syria, including 180 returnees crossing at the Aoun Dadat point.
