Thomas Ginn presents an overview of CGD's research on policies and programs targeting livelihoods. Starting with an overview of labor market access and its effects, drawing on CGD's 2022 Refugee Work Rights report, Digest piece for the JDC, and forthcoming work on the World Bank's Window for Host Communities and Refugees. He present results from two experiments in Kampala on livelihoods and social cohesion that offer practical, cost-effective strategies for programming. Thomas Ginn is a research fellow at the Center for Global Development, where he studies migration and displacement. His current research focuses on aid for refugees in lower-income countries, including projects on labor market access, housing, and host community attitudes.
