Research report on the results of the interview-based research on professionals and volunteers working with refugees and the focus group research on refugees (June 2024)

the framework of the project of the Carpathian Foundation - Hungary implemented in Heves, Hajdú-Bihar and Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg counties, we conducted a qualitative research (in addition to the questionnaire survey) between March and May 2024. The project staff conducted twenty structured interviews with professionals and volunteers working with refugees from Ukraine, and an external researcher conducted three focus group discussions with the refugees targeted by the project. The results of these are summarised in the report. The aim of the qualitative research was, on the one hand, to get information from professionals and volunteers working directly with refugees about the results and difficulties of professional activities, the situation of refugees in general, the differences between the chances and opportunities of Roma and non-Roma refugees, and the situation of refugee women and children.
