The displacement patterns recorded in Q2 2026 reveal a profound shift in Somalia's humanitarian landscape. Unlike previous years, when flooding was the predominant driver of displacement, the crisis has evolved into a conflict- and drought driven emergency, with these two hazards accounting for nearly 90 per cent of all recorded displacement. This reflects the growing interaction between insecurity, climatic shocks and livelihood deterioration across the country.
