Poland: Analysis of the impact of refugees from Ukraine on the economy of Poland - 3rd edition (October 2026)

Type de document: Rapports et evaluations
Langue(s): English
In 2025, refugees from Ukraine generated an estimated 2.4% increase in Poland’s GDP, equivalent to approximately PLN 94 billion, while their employment rate rose to 76%, up from 69% in 2024. As refugees increasingly transition from temporary protection to more durable residence arrangements, their economic inclusion is becoming deeper and more long-term. Refugees are increasingly supporting themselves through employment and entrepreneurship, with their incomes becoming less dependent on social transfers and their contribution to public finances growing. Their participation in the labour market has strengthened the Polish economy through increased labour supply, productivity, occupational specialisation and consumer spending, without evidence of negative effects on the employment or wages of Polish workers.
