Langue(s): English,French
Burundi - In October 2026, heavy rains, strong winds, and lightning affected the Busuma and Musenyi refugee sites, causing damage to shelters and essential infrastructure. In Busuma, 510 tents were affected and approximately 2,000 people require relocation, while in Musenyi, the impacts mainly concern shelters and drainage systems. Response priorities include the safe relocation of affected households, rehabilitation of damaged infrastructure, improvements to drainage and WASH facilities, and the continuity of essential services.
