The report covers main displacement and statelessness trends during the first half of 2020. It also contains a dedicated chapter on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on displaced and stateless people. The report shows that global forced displacement has surpassed the 80 million mark as of mid-2020, driven by new displacement in Africa’s Sahel region as well as conflict in the DRC, Mozambique, Somalia, Syria and Yemen.
