As part of the last round of 2021 infrastructure projects, UNHCR Iraq, commissioned a Technical, Economic and Social Feasibility Study for the Implementation of a Sustainable Energy Solution for Domiz 1 Refugee Camp. The initiative has been spearheaded by the American University of Kurdistan (AUK), Atmosfair and UNHCR in 2020-21.The purpose of the study was not for UNHCR to fund the implementation of the entire solarization but rather aimed at setting the foundation to attract the required support from donors (non-UNHCR resources, incl. private sector).
