ISWA President visits AMISOM Headquarters as troops return to Leego camp

AMISOM troops returned to their outpost in Leego on Sunday, repossessed the camp and started bolstering security.
In Mogadishu, the President of the Interim South West Administration (ISWA) Sharif Hassan Sheikh Aden visited AMISOM Force Headquarters to commiserate with the troops over the Friday dawn attack.
Some of the injured soldiers are recuperating at the AMISOM level 2 hospital in the capital Mogadishu.
Speaking at a meeting with AMISOM officials and military leadership among them the Contingent Commander of the Burundi National Defence Force (BNDF), the ISWA President said the soldiers death would not be in vain. He urged AMISOM to step up the military campaign to rid the country of Al-Shabaab, whom he added posed a threat not only to Somalia, but to regional peace and stability.
“We are requesting you to eliminate the Al-Shabaab and you know how to eliminate them because they are everywhere and on the streets. We will mobilize the community to collaborate with you to defeat them”, said Sheikh Aden.
