The Czech Republic Contributes to the Syrian Refugees Humanitarian Assistance

On 27 March 2012 the first Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Karel Schwarzenberg approved a humanitarian assistance to the Syrian refugees.
The assistance reaches the amount of CZK 3 million and will be provided through the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which approved its regional plan of assistance to the Syrian refugees.
The humanitarian assistance will target the people who are fleeing violence from Syria to neighboring countries, mainly to Jordan, Turkey and Lebanon.
