U Nan Ri, from the committee member of Kayan culture and literature voiced that salary for Kayan language teachers need to be solved out by the Govnt support to the teachers who’re now teaching in the government schools.

“We have started teaching since 2013-2014 school years. The Govrnt said that they would support each teacher 30,000 Kyats per a month but teachers are not paid until now. Hereafter, salary is piquantly needed to be able to continue of Kayan language teaching” said U Nan Ri.

Started from the 2013-2014 school years, ethnic languages are allowed to teach in the government schools by the State and with that factual, Kayah, Kayan, Kayaw language are officially agreeing. However, Kayan language is the only one which is basically being able to instill in the government school.

“The government said that Kayah and Kayaw are not ready yet to teach. Consequently Kayan teachers are not given the salary. Salary should have considerably paid for the one which is ready and teaching. Anyhow, we would keeping ask for helping provided the salary. A kayan lady Mu Ester said “summer holiday was the only chance for me to learn Kayan in the summer training in the past. Now it is allowed to learn in the government school would bring our language and Kayan people to be brighter future and the language could even reach to the international level” It is known from the Kayan Culture and literature chairperson U Paulu Chan that Kayan language was stated to teach by the Kayan literacy volunteers in the Primary, Middle and High school in 2013-2014 school years. 200 schools in PeKhon , 34 schools in Loikaw, 61 schools in Deemawso, 30 schools in Tha Daung and 15 schools in Mandalay (Pyin Ma Nar) Townships.
