Qushtapa refugee camp was established in August 2013 and hosts Syrian refugee families. It is located in the Qushtapa district, 25 km from Erbil city centre and within the southern region of Erbil Governorate. Most Refugees originate from Al-malika, Qamishli and Al-Hasaka areas of Syria. Initially consisting of tents, the camp underwent several phases of shelter upgrade which culminated in 2019.
