RJ
The association of Roma lawyers from Romania, RomaJust, is the first organization of Roma lawyers in the country and in Europe, founded by young Roma lawyers. RomaJust was established on July 4, 2015 and is made up of Roma graduates and students of law faculties in the country. RomaJust was founded as a result of the fact that in the last decade a considerable number of young Roma have graduated from law school, especially in the countries where the scholarship program of the Roma Education Fund operates. However, no visible progress was registered in the number of Roma lawyers, notaries, judges, etc. Moreover, Romania is a country with a significant population of Roma. Many cases of discrimination and violation of the rights of Roma people are registered, many of them require legal assistance. This fact represents a gap in the profession in the legal field as well as in the ranks of Roma professionals. -
